PPG HI-TEMP 1027™ – This coating prevents Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) of carbon and stainless steel over an extreme temperature range from –185°C to 650°C (–300°F to 1,200°F) and also from –185°C to 538°C (–300°F to 1000°F) for cryogenic service on stainless steel.
PITT-CHAR® XP – PFP (Passive Fire Protection) coatings are used extensively throughout the oil, gas and petrochemical industries to protect safety critical structures and equipment from the ever present threat of hydrocarbon hazards such as spills, explosions and fires. PPG’s PITT-CHAR XP system is uniquely suited to protection against such hazards. Based on flexible epoxy intumescent technology, this type of coating is designed to expand upon exposure to heat into an insulating protective char. This prevents steel from heating up rapidly and delays the loss of load-bearing capacity and integrity – buying crucial time for personnel to escape and limiting asset and environmental damage.
